This Sunday, June 24, the University of Minnesota-Duluth Medical School and College of Pharmacy will host a cancer fundraiser at Bent Paddle Brewing Company in Duluth.

The event will also support the AHC North Chainbreaker Team's journey to cure cancer.  It will feature a silent auction with items provided by local Twin Ports businesses and food will be available from Duluth's OMC Smokehouse.

The fundraiser is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m at Bent Paddle, located at 1832 W. Michigan Street in Duluth.

100% of the proceeds will go towards cancer research at the Masonic Cancer Center.  According to organizers, cancer is the leading cause of death in Minnesota and half of us will have a cancer diagnosis in our lifetimes. Funding for research is the only way to change those numbers and improve outcomes.

The University of Minnesota Medical School, Duluth Campus says their mission is:

To be a national leader in improving healthcare access and outcomes in rural Minnesota and American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities.

You can get updates and more information on the official event Facebook page.
