The City of Duluth Parks and Recreations division is looking for volunteers this Saturday, May 12, to help clean up damaged portions of Duluth's Lakewalk Trail.

Mother Nature has not been kind to the Lakewalk, with substantial rock debris being washed up after the October 2017 and April 2018 storms.  I went down there several weeks ago and was saddened to see how much damage the storms had done.

The area of focus Saturday will be the turf area along the Canal Park segment of the Lakewalk behind the hotels.

The City is seeking up to 50 volunteers, 12+ years or older, to help with work that will require raking, bending, stooping, and hauling rock material from the turf to the beach.  Volunteers will be needed between 9:00 a.m. - Noon, and the event will take place rain or shine.

If you can help, advanced registration is required.  Follow the link below to access the Parks Volunteer Calendar, then click on this event to register.

Upon arrival Saturday morning, all volunteers will check in with City staff at the Endion Station parking lot in Canal Park.
