C.A.S.D.A. stands for Center Against Sexual and Domestic Abuse and gets a lot of people that come to them for help with just the clothes on their backs.

The number one thing that people need when they come for help is socks. CASDA Jill Hinners says when they ask for things they need on a regular basis it's new socks. So that was the inspiration for the name of the golf scramble.

The SOCKS FOR SURVIVORS GOLF SCRAMBLE takes place at Nemadji Golf Course on Friday, July 30th. This is a fundraiser and will take place rain or shine. Check-in is at 8 am and there is a shotgun start at 9 am.

Something to look forward to this year, if golfers still don't feel safe in a group setting, can do a virtual event. There is a virtual teams event. You can golf separately of the whole big group and you can turn in your scores electronically. The other great part is those golfers that participate virtually are still eligible for the prizes.

Virtual golfers that do their turn from the 23rd to the 29th, your fee includes green fees, car, lunch, and eligibility for the team, and proximity prizes. If you are going to golf on the 30th, your fee includes a contest, additional special features, plus live music.

That's another thing that will be new, live music by Kelsey Miles. There will be other opportunities to win prizes like a hole-in-one contest, 50/50 raffles, door prizes, golf sock prizes awarded for best-dressed socks, funniest socks, best mismatch, best team socks, and if these socks could talk.

If you want to register online you can go to the website. For more information, contact info@casda.org. All proceeds benefit CASDA, which provides supportive services to individuals hurt by domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse while advocating for a community effort to end violence.
