Winter Clothing Drive To Benefit Kids In Our Community
It's the time of the year around the Twin Ports where the temps start to drop and we have to start using the dreaded "S" word. Snow will be here soon, it's predicted for Saturday and was even seen around our area yesterday.
A big need for some people is decent winter clothing. This can include gloves, mittens, hats, and other things to keep you warm. Some of these items many of us have several of and if you have extra to spare, you can always consider donating them. Or even if you have some extra coin to grab some new items, that can help out area kids in a big way.
Farmers Insurance-Bonnie J. Jacobson Insurance Agency, is holding a winter clothing drive. I spoke to Bonnie to get a little more information about it and thought it was great that she will be getting the donations to local schools. We've all seen kids at bus stops or walking to and from school, who maybe don't have all the winter gear they should.
The Winter Clothing Drive will be on Thursday, October 22nd, from Noon-5:00PM. You can drop off new or gently used and clean items at 738 East Superior Street in Duluth. You'll even get a free ice cream treat too for your efforts to help out the drive and kids in the Northland. You can get more information on this great event HERE.
