In an effort to increase security at concerts and all events, the Xcel Energy Center has announced policy changes that will go into effect beginning October 15.

In essence, the Xcel Energy Center will implement the same security restrictions that are in place for Minnesota Wild games for all events at the arena.

According to BringMeTheNews.com, beginning October 15 you can only bring in the following bags:

  • Clear tote (plastic, vinyl or PVC) that does not exceed 12"x 6"x 12" or a plastic storage bag that is maximum one gallon, resealable and clear.
  • Small bags, such as a small clutch purse, that are approximately the size of a hand with or without a handle or strap, will be allowed but must not exceed 5"x 8"

Anyone who has bags bigger than this will have to leave them with the arena's drop-off service.

Another event policy change effective immediately involves re-entries.  Re-entries will not be permitted for any reason, including smokers who want come back into the arena after leaving for a cigarette.

The Xcel Energy Center will also designate select concessions and nonfood locations to only accept cashless payments, whether credit card, mobile payments, or gift cards.  This change is designed to speed cut down on wait times to purchase food and drink during event.
