In the last several years, food trucks in, around, or near the Twin Ports area have become quite common.

Some of them offer smaller menus with something they specialize in, like Tig's Smok'n Pig BBQ, who of course does just BBQ.  Others will feature the gauntlet of fair and festival foods.  Think items like cheese curds, mini-donuts, fried pickles, and deep fried Oreos.  You also might find a pizza truck, one with great burgers, cheesesteaks, noodles, and much more.

Going into it's second year, is a Food Truck Festival in Virginia, MN.  At the time of writing this, over 17 food trucks have signed on to serve you a wide variety of items.  You can be pretty sure that with that many there, there will be something for even the most picky eaters.  More than just a chance to eat well, this is an opportunity to support smaller and local businesses.  Many were hit hard by the pandemic, so this community event gives them a chance to start the making up for lost business over the last year.

In addition to the wide array of edible options to stuff your face with, there will also be some fun activities to participate in.  Trek the Range is a photo scavenger hunt that you can get more details on at the event.  It all happens on Saturday, June 19th from 11:00AM-7:00PM.  Make sure you arrive hungry and get the good fair foods that you probably haven't had much of for the last year.

Burger Toppings - Other Than Lettuce + Tomato

The hamburger is probably one of America's favorite foods. And while you can eat them plain, most people add toppings to theirs to make them even more delicious. Besides the condiments (i.e. ketchup, mustard, maybe mayonnaise and barbecue sauce), the standard toppings usually include some combination of cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onion. Those standard toppings represent the majority of burgers that get made and eaten. However, some people look for other toppings to take their burgers "over-the-top". Read on for some ideas you might not have thought of before.
