60 years is a long time to be flipping flapjacks. But when it's for a good cause, time is irrelevant. This is a long standing tradition for The Lions Club, not just for the members, but for the volunteers and patrons as well.

Northlanders look forward to this day all year. If you come in from the skywalk, you'll be able to smell the sweet syrup before you hit the door. The smoky aroma of the sausages will have your mouth watering before you can even sit down. One of the many volunteers will make sure to have a piping hot cup of coffee available to you should you need it. They'll have juice & milk to drink available as well.

  • When: Thursday, May 4th 6AM -8PM
  • Where: DECC - Pioneer Hall
  • Cost:  $6 in advance and $7 at the door.

Here's some stats from the 2016 pancake day:

  • They used 2,610 pounds of pancake flour
  • Poured 700 gallons of coffee
  • Served 1,290 pounds of sausages
  • Gave out 3,600 slices of bacon
  • Used 41 cases of syrup
  • Went through 613 cases of blueberry filling and 695 cases of strawberry

Doors open at 6AM, closing at 8PM. But, here's a tip, their busiest hour is usually from 5-6, and the slowest hour is from 2-3.

Last year the Pancake Day proceeds returned $50,000 back to the community! Some of the programs include: Lighthouse Center for Vision Loss, Duluth Community Health Care Office, MN Lions Eye Bank, American Diabetes Assoc., CanDo Canines, Salvation Army, Whipper Snapper Races, Empty Bowl Project, Lake Superior Zoo, Union Gospel Mission, and many more.

Thank you to The Duluth Lions Club and to all the participating volunteers!!
