A person who was a witness to an accident in Lindstrom, Minnesota used their own vehicle to stop another driver from leaving the scene of a car accident. Other witnesses came forward and detained the woman until police arrived. According to the criminal complaint the Minnesota State Patrol alerted the Lakes Area Police Department that a driver had crossed the center line entering Chisago County.

The driver of the vehicle causing the accident was 38-year-old Lynn Marie Filla of Wyoming, Minnesota. A short time later it was reported that Filla had rear-ended a car and continued driving. As police were looking for her multiple 911 reports came in with reports of a crash in Lindstrom.

Witnesses on the scene reported that Filla ran a stop sign at a high rate of speed and crashed into the side of another vehicle as she tried to drive away but was blocked by the other witness's car. Filla then got out of the car walking back to the crash site where she was physically detained by a man holding on to her. The people in the vehicle that were hit were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to Bring Me The News, police found two empty bottles of alcohol and a bottle of prescription pills inside Filla's car. She had a blood-alcohol content of 0.169, according to a preliminary breath test. She was charged yesterday with gross misdemeanor criminal vehicular operation. Additional charges may be added once the full extent of the victims injuries are known and results from her blood draw.

I have to applaud the person who risked being injured themselves by using their vehicle to block her in before she could take off and cause any more injuries or damage to anyone else. It seems so often now that people turn the other cheek and don't want to get involved,
