Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings has been named the NFC Offensive Player of NFL week 7 after his performance against the Arizona Cardinals.

In the game, Peterson rushed for a season-high 153 yards and a touchdown. This, his 29th 100+ yard rushing game in the NFL, came on 23 carries with his longest rush of 27 yards contributing to the impressive total.

This performance ties Peterson with Vikings great Robert Smith for most 100+ rushing yard games among all Vikings players. Through the 2012 season, Peterson is tied for 3rd place in rushing yards in the NFL with 652.

This is Peterson's 6th career NFC Offensive Player of the Week award. Coincidentally, Peterson won the same award the last time the Vikings played the Cardinals in 2011, rushing for 122 yards and 3 touchdowns. All of those touchdowns came in the first quarter of that performance.

This week, the Vikings prepare for a Thursday Night Football matchup at the Metrodome with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
