Did You Get A Call From A Dish Network Telemarketer? You Could Be Awarded $1,200 From A Lawsuit
Dish Network was recently found to have violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, prompting the company to offer $1,200 to each of the over 18,000 people that had their phone number on the National Do Not Call Registry, yet still got a call from Dish telemarketers.
USA Today is reporting a judge in North Carolina ruled that Dish violated the TCPA between May 11, 2010 and August 1, 2011, placing calls to 18,066 people that had their phone number listed on the Do Not Call Registry. The ruling states that Dish is responsible to pay $1,200 to each affected person, however claims must be filed by impacted individuals in order to receive payment.
To find out if your phone number was one of those listed as eligible for a payment, you can search the telephone lookup database set up as part of the lawsuit to search for any phone numbers you may have had in 2010-2011. If your number is listed, claims must be filed before June 18, 2018. You can file your claim here.
