Duluth Dylan Fest and Song From the North Country will commemorate Bob Dylan’s 80th birthday with a songwriting contest and a local collaborative video.

According to a press release. The Duluth Dylan Fest now in its 11th year will take place May 22-30. Yes, COVID has changed this too, featuring mainly virtual performances with some live music experiences following safe guidelines set forth from the State Of Minnesota.

The Duluth Dylan Fest has joined forces with the Song From The North Country with a songwriting contest. Committee Member Mark Poirier told Visit Duluth, Doing things differently and keeping them interesting inspired us to come up with something new.

The Press Release says this year the winning song from the song contest will be made into a music video produced by Song From the North Country’s talented group of local and regional musicians. There will be cash prizes for the first, second, and third place winners, with an opportunity for those winners to perform during the fest.
