Former Duluth Denfeld football player C.J. Ham is one of seven Minnesotans on the roster at Vikings training camp this summer, joining the likes of Adam Thielen, Marcus Sherels, and Isaac Fruechte.

The former Denfeld Hunter got signed by the Vikings in May, and is currently one of six running backs on the roster competing for a spot on the team. During training camp this week, Ham saw a fair amount of reps with the second and third squads, splitting time mostly with Jhurell Pressley on Wednesday.

Ham told Vikings.com that this opportunity is a dream come true, having grown up watching and cheering for the Vikings. He shared his thoughts on being at camp, saying “It’s awesome. Just walking around here and having people know my name. It’s awesome to know that people out here support me and all my other Minnesota teammates, too.”

When it comes to working at the pro level in camp alongside the likes of Adrian Peterson, Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata, Ham says he's learning a lot. In that same interview with Vikings.com, he shared Adrian Peterson's advice to him, saying “AP just pretty much tells me to trust my eyes. He always tells me to trust, anticipate, trust my eyes and let the ball go where it goes.”
