The Hermantown Police Department has a friendly reminder for residents ahead of this winter's first big storm.

They shared a courtesy warning on their Facebook page Monday (November 25th) regarding parking rules and the snow. Here's what they shared:

We have a couple of snowstorms brewing for this week and weekend. Please remember that there is NO PARKING on any street in Hermantown from November 1 - April 15th between the hours of 2 am and 10 am.

The cost of a parking citation is $35. If ticketed during snow removal operations, vehicles will be towed, adding an additional expense to violators. Please understand our goal is to ensure safe and efficient snow removal operations.

There you have it! The Hermantown Police Department also asks that you plan ahead of time for future events where you may need to park on the street so you aren't scrambling at the last minute and find yourself in a situation like one they mentioned.

By the way, if the Old Farmer's Almanac is correct, this will be our first of many strong winter storms.
