The attack on the Minnesota High School boy’s basketball scoring record begins tonight as Lakeview Christian Academy opens their season against North Woods tonight.  The Lions seeking another section title and return to state.

Lions Senior guard Anders Broman has signed his letter of intent to play at South Dakota State next year.  He is just 252 points away from setting the all-time scoring record in Minnesota.  Broman said he is looking forward to starting the season.  He said, “Being a senior, I really don’t know what to expect. Hopefully we can make a state run, hopefully.  I have confidence in my teammates and hopefully it will be a lot of fun.”

His brother Bjorn is also on the team, a sophomore and he is also looking forward to the season.  “To play with him, is one of the best parts of it.  I’ve grown-up with him everything I’ve done, I’ve done with him. Now we get to play together everyday and I see all of the hard work he puts in, and it pays off and it’s all going good so far.”

And in high school girl’s basketball Monday night, Ashland topped Northwestern  31-26.

In other girl’s games, the Esko Eskomos moved to 2 – 1 on the season at home vs. Grand Rapids by winning 67-30.  Savanna Trapp, of Esko, led all scorers with 16 points, 6 blocked shots, and 9 rebounds.  Marisa Shady was also in double figures
