Whether you're an alumni or not, if you have any history in Duluth, you're likely well aware of Duluth Central High School. From the historic Duluth Central High School, which dates back to 1882 in downtown Duluth, to the Duluth Central High School that was built in 1971 near the intersection of Central Entrance and Pecan Avenue, it was a very important part of the city's history.

Sadly, the "new" Duluth Central High School off Central Entrance was controversially  closed by the City in 2011 and is now set for demolition. As a 1988 Duluth Central graduate, I may be biased, but I still think that closing the school was a horrible idea that has only been compounded by how badly the City has mismanaged that property ever since.

Meanwhile, historic Duluth Central High School served as an administration building over the years and has just recently been sold, which is great news for anyone who wants to own not only a piece of Duluth Central High School history, but also those who just want to own a rare antique.

Nordic Auctions has announced that Duluth's former Central High School Alumni Historical Museum contents, which were housed in historic Duluth Central High School in downtown Duluth, will be auctioned off this weekend in what they're billing as the "antique/collectible sale of the summer."

Due to the sale of the historical downtown Duluth’s Central High School Building,
the contents of the museum will be sold to the public at this time.
