Is FUBAR On Netflix With Arnold Schwarzenegger Worth A Watch?
I'm a massive fan of action movies and thus when I heard Arnold Schwarzenegger was going to be in a new Netflix Series called FUBAR, I knew I'd have to give it a watch.
It only makes sense we get a show with Arnold as the first season of Sylvester Stallone's show Tulsa King recently wrapped up.
I waited to dive into FUBAR so I could watch the first episode with my wife, which was a mistake as she was ever so gently snoring away about ten minutes in. So, I finished episode one on my own and then got through the second as well.
The show is about a father (Schwarzenegger) and daughter who find out they both work for the CIA. As you can imagine, it's a whole circus of dysfunction between the two with plenty of foul language, explosions, and action scenes mixed in.
Even with as big of a fan of Arnold as I am, the first episode was tough for me to get through. His acting felt so forced and I hate to say it, his days of playing the part of a spy or agent and keeping it from his family might be over. Then episode two started and it felt different somehow. Like maybe they took notes from the first one and changed things up a bit.
While the storyline continued on, I won't say the acting was better, just that it flowed a bit more well with the other characters.
The action and explosion effects are typical of a Netflix production and aren't that great but are certainly on par for what most non-blockbuster productions have been giving us. Here's to hoping the character development and flow of the remaining episodes make it a show worth watching through a second season.
So far though, FUBAR is a very far behind second place to Tulsa King.
