Sometimes you see commercials on TV and wonder, 'is this product really a thing?' Some of the 'as seen on TV' commercials you might run into definitely have an 'SNL' vibe, but this one takes it up a notch. While flipping around the local TV channels over the weekend, I caught a commercial that seemed a bit too cheesy to be for real. It turns out that yes, this is a real commercial for a real product.

As the "Trumpy Bear" website states, the 22" bear comes with a 30" X 30" flag colored blanket (which looks bigger in the commercial) stored in a zippered neck pouch. Considering the cheesy nature of the video, it's hard to say if the folks behind the bear are serious supporters, trolls, or someone just looking to make a little money. Whatever the case, they do explicitly warn on their website that they "cannot accept returns of intentionally damaged bears"; so don't get any bright ideas.

Exceptional Products, Inc., the company listed on the website as the distributor for Trumpy Bear, is also the company behind such "as seen on TV" products as the HairdiniCargoroo, and Wrap Snap Go. According to their "About Us" page, Exceptional Products, Inc. is essentially a startup investment company that helps inventors get their products out in front of the public.

While we don't know for sure who is actually behind the product, the official commercial on the Trumpy Bear website is on the YouTube channel of a woman named Nichole Lamonica (which happens to be the home to a few other "as seen on TV" commercials). She may just be the commercial producer, but she may also be the ingenious creator of Trumpy Bear and MaxiGlide. We just don't know for sure.

Believe it or not, Trumpy Bear is not the only Trump bear on the market. While you may have been caught off guard by the sticker price of "just 2 easy payments of $19.95, plus shipping & handling", Vermont Teddy Bear offers their own Trump Bear, which is $79.99. is the extra $40 worth it for the Vermont Teddy Bear when it doesn't come with a blanket or the ability to "style his trademark hair"?
