Minnesota Daycare Worker Admits to Federal Child Porn Charges
Minneapolis, MN (MinnesotaNow) - A former employee of a Minnesota childcare center has admitted to federal child pornography charges.
Former Childcare Employee Enters Guilty Plea
The U.S. Attorney's Office for Minnesota says 41-year-old Eric Philip Allen appeared before a federal judge today and entered a guilty plea to one count of production of child pornography and one count of distribution of child pornography. The Minneapolis man was indicted on the charges by a federal grand jury in August of last year.

What Court Documents Alleged
According to court documents, Allen was accused of photographing or recording videos of children enrolled at the Minneapolis childcare center where he worked for his own sexual gratification. He was also accused of distributing other child sexual abuse material through the internet.
“Today’s guilty plea is one step closer to holding the defendant accountable for his heinous acts against the most vulnerable. There is no higher priority for my office than safeguarding children and prosecuting those who harm them,” said United States Attorney Daniel N. Rosen.

Investigation by Minnesota BCA
A news release issued by the U.S. Attorney's Office says the conviction was the result of an investigation conducted by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
Allen's sentencing date has yet to be scheduled.
