Raise Funds For Veterans By Joining The Ruck Life March
Join B105 as we support the 23rd Veteran Saturday, May 31st. We're raising money to help veterans and first responders who have experienced trauma live happier, fuller lives.
What Is 23rd Veteran?
23rd Veteran's mission is to provide happier, healthier lives for veterans living with trauma. When founder Mike Waldron created 23rd Veteran, 22 veterans were dying by suicide every single day. This continues to happen, and our veterans need our help.
23rd Veteran offers an immersive 14-week reconditioning program called 23V Recon. It starts with a week of outdoor wellness adventure. Participants complete challenges, practice survival, and build trust with one another, creating a system of vulnerability and accountability.
The program then continues with group psychology boosted with exercise. Members are coached with a 60-minute workout that helps boost brain chemistry and is a useful tool for mental growth. Following the workout is group discussions and homework to build resilience and create lasting habits for happiness. Read more about the program from 23rd Veteran.
What is Ruck Life?
Ruck Life is a march where Ruckers can hike to raise money and awareness to help our veterans. It costs $7,500 for each member to go through the 23V Recon program. To raise money, anyone can donate or march on May 31st. You can carry any type of rucksack or backpack with clothing and food to donate at the end of the march. The loop is a half mile up Mont Du Lac hill, then a mile hike through the woods, and a half mile walk back to the base. If you take the loop 5 times for a total of 10 miles, you receive an "all the way" patch.
How much do I have to carry?
In your rucksack, they suggest you start with 15-20 pounds of clothing or food to donate. You can always carry more, but beginners should start light.
Join Team B105
I'm organizing my first team this year for Ruck Life. If you would like to march with Team B105, contact me and I'll get you a code to register for the march. I you can't march, please donate. There are several ways to do that.
How to Donate
You can go to the Team B105 fundraising page to donate. So far, this year Ruck Life has raised 84.1 K. The goal is $100,000 so more donations would be greatly appreciated.
Northland Chevrolet Is Helping Out
Northland Chevrolet is partnering with 23rd Veteran. For every test drive and vehicle sold, they will make a donation to 23rd Veteran. So, if you can't afford to donate, you can take a test drive, and money will be generated for the cause.
I hope to see you on May 31st for Ruck Life's 10-year anniversary ruck.
