Following over two years of being vacant after Electric Fetus closed their Downtown Duluth location, a new tenant has been revealed that will move into the storefront on the corner of Superior Street and Lake Avenue.

As you might recall, Electric Fetus made the "difficult decision" to permanently close their Duluth location in May of 2021, citing challenges after being shut down by the COVID-19 pandemic. They explained that they had been struggling financially with their Duluth location for some time, and the pandemic shutdown forced them to finally close their Twin Ports location, leaving them with just their Minneapolis location.

Just over two years after that announcement, new life is being brought to the retail outlet, right across Superior Street from Pizza Lucé.

Tattoo shop Anchors End shared on their Facebook page earlier this month that they will be moving into the old Electric Fetus location, just over a block away from their current Duluth location. You can see their current location marked by the red pin, with the Electric Fetus location marked with the green pin on the map below.

In the post, they shared they are still actively serving customers at their location on First Street, but they wanted to share an update about their future location, which they'll be moving into soon.

Anchors End got their start in Duluth back in 2003, eventually expanding to Stillwater, Minnesota, and Hudson and River Falls in Wisconsin.

Before moving into what they called the "legendary" Electric Fetus building, they are making some updates that will accommodate the artists and their customers. There is currently no set date for their official opening in their new Duluth location, but the hope is they'd be moved within the next month or so, which could put them on Superior Street before the end of July.

This marks the latest in a number of changes over the years on Duluth's historic Superior Street. Here's a look back at other changes over the years along the Downtown Duluth roadway.
