One of the Most Annoying Things About Going to a Stadium in MN

If you have been to a stadium or an arena for either a concert or a sporting event, you will always find this one thing to be true.  And it really is kind of annoying. However, I do understand the "why" behind it.  Doesn't make it any less annoying.

If you ever go to any of these events whether it's at Target Field, Grand Casino Arena (Xcel), US Bank Stadium, Allianz Field, Huntington Bank Stadium, or even here in Waite Park at the Ledge you will find that you are not allowed to have a top on your plastic water bottle.  So, you walk around with this bottle of water, or soda or whatever, and you really need to be careful as not to spill it.

WHY DO THEY REMOVE THE BOTTLE CAPS FROM PLASTIC BOTTLES

When I looked to see what the answer was, it actually kind of surprised me.  I initially thought maybe it was because of a tripping hazard.  Like if one fell on the floor, it can become something that if you step on it just right, you could slip and fall down.  Well, that is not the reason.  Here is the official reason from Reddit:

...routinely require staff to remove the tops from plastic water bottles at entry. This is a standard crowd safety measure implemented to prevent bottles from being thrown as dangerous projectiles

THEY DO SOMETHING ACROSS THE POND WHICH IS KIND OF GENIUS

When we were in Italy, we found something that may have been even more annoying, however, when I got used to it, it seems like a great idea, and I'm not sure why they don't do that here.

If you get a bottle of water or a sode or anything else that comes in a plastic bottle, the cap will not come off.  Not to say that you can't get the cap off, it does twist off like any other water bottle, but the cap only goes so far, and it stays attached to the bottle.  At first I thought I got a defective one, then I realized that they all do that.  Never lose a cap again!  The only downfall is that you do need to hold the cap down.  Otherwise it hits your nose as you drink.  That's not great.  But you do get used to it.
