McNabb Takes the Helm

It's official. After sitting out the first couple days of training camp per rules of the new collective bargaining agreement, Donovan McNabb took reps with the Vikings offense.

Coach Leslie Frazier told the press this about McNabb's first practice appearance:

The timing was there, he seemed to have a good command of the offense and just to jump in there right away and begin to call the offense and set up and hand off and throw the football accurately, considering all the stuff that's been going on, I thought he did a good job.

McNabb's addition to the team moves first round draft pick and projected starter Christian Ponder to third string; behind McNabb and Joe Webb.
