A bright spot in an otherwise dark start to the season.

The Minnesota Vikings are off to a 1-2 start to the season, and there hasn't been much to celebrate, so let's hear it for Mike Boone for giving us some hope.

The NFL announced today that RB Mike Boone has been named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against the Houston Texans.

The Vikings beat the Texans 31-23 with the help of Boone's forced a fumble from Texans punt returner DeAndre Carter in the first quarter of Sunday's game, the ball was recovered by the Vikes, and they turned that into a field goal that gave the Vikings a 10-0 lead.

This is the first time Boone has been named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week, and one of 18 different players claim 24 total NFC Player of the Week Honors since Head Coach Mike Zimmer was hired in 2014.
