Milwaukee Brewers Giving Away Talking ‘Harry Doyle’ Bobbleheads
Major League is one of the funniest sports movies of all time, and many baseball fans can easily quote multiple memorable lines from the film. Many of those lines were spoken by Harry Doyle (played by Bob Uecker), the fictional radio voice of the Cleveland Indians. In reality, Uecker has spent 45 seasons calling baseball games for the Milwaukee Brewers, and the team has decided to pay tribute to their beloved announcer.
Tuesday night, the Brewers are celebrating Uecker's 60 years in professional baseball by giving away 4,000 talking Harry Doyle bobbleheads to fans who purchased a particular ticket package. The bobblehead spouts such classic Doyle phrases like “This guy threw at his own kid in a father-son game,” “Personally, I think we got hosed on that call,” and “Just a bit outside.”
Uecker is also throwing out the ceremonial first pitch before tonight's game against the Indians, and a donation of $10,000 will be made by the team in his name to the Make a Wish Foundation.
