Free Agent Pitcher Matt Garza and Milwaukee Brewers Reach 4-Year Deal
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Free agent pitcher Matt Garza and the Milwaukee Brewers have reached agreement on a four-year contract.
Brewers owner Mark Attanasio made the announcement Sunday on stage during a question-and-answer session at a fan event.
Attanasio says the contract still has to go through "final approval."
There had been recent reports that the Brewers were talking to Garza about a four-year deal worth $52 million.
The 30-year-old righty went 10-6 with a 3.82 ERA last season for the Chicago Cubs and Texas Rangers. Garza would join Yovani Gallardo and Kyle Lohse at the top of Milwaukee's rotation.
