I've been a long suffering Minnesota Timberwolves fan, which means I'm in no way a fan of the NBA Lottery.  The NBA is the only sport where adding one star athlete to a team can make a big difference, but after all the horrible seasons the Timberwolves have had they've never won the number one pick in the draft.

In fact, no team has had worse luck in the NBA Lottery.  A perfect example is the year Shaquille O'Neal was the obvious number one choice and the Timberwolves ended the year with the worst record, but then got the third pick in the draft.  Goodbye Shaq, hello Christian Laettner.

The Timberwolves luck changed Tuesday night when they won the pick they deserved, the number one pick in the NBA draft.  Now it's time to figure out who to take.  I'll save them research time, take Karl-Anthony Towns and don't look back.

Here's the ESPN report on the NBA Lottery results.
