Northland Residents React To President Joe Biden’s Superior Visit
President Joe Biden visited Superior yesterday (3/2/22) and spoke at UW-Superior.
The Northland has had their fair share of visits of Presidents and potential candidates. Throwback to when Duluth's Redbear made an appearance at Bernie Sanders rally at the DECC back in 2016. Most recently, Donald Trump also visited Duluth for a rally back in 2018.
According to WDIO, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers, and Mayor Emily Larson were all on hand to greet the President at the airport. Senators Amy Klobuchar, Tina Smith, and Tammy Baldwin also flew with Biden to Duluth.
Biden made a stop at a site near the Blatnik bridge and was seen talking to construction workers. Mayor Jim Paine, the leaders of Minnesota and Wisconsin's Departments of Transportation, and local union officials were also on hand for the president's visit to the bridge. While at UWS, he spoke about investments in the St. Louis River, Superior port infrastructure, and the Great Lakes.
Let's take a look on what some of the Northland had to say about the visit:
