The North Shore Scenic Railroad announced today that A Day Out With Thomas The Tank Engine at the Depot this summer has been canceled for everyone's safety. This year's event was scheduled for July 31, August 1, 2, and 7, 8, 9.

A press release from the NSSR says ticket holders will be contacted and refunds issued through the credit card used to make their purchase. Please allow 45 – 60 days for the refunds to post.

Due to the rules and regulations laid down by Gov. Walz and the State Of Minnesota it was decided the gathering of people with children present was too big of a size to guarantee the safety of everyone who would attend. Normally Thomas would come with his friend Percy to take families for a ride up the North Shore and then come back and have many things for kids to do and families to have fun together. The NSSR said between 17,000-18,000 people visited when the engine would visit, and was the biggest fundraiser of the year.

The North Shore Scenic Railroad said Thomas and Percy love visiting Duluth and said they would come back next summer in 2021 to see all the families they love. The NSSR said the dates will be July 30, 31 & August 1 and August 6,7 & 8 of 2021.

The North Shore Scenic Railroad's Executive Director Ken Buehler said they hope to resume service for their regular excursions on July 1st. Those plans are tentative and depend on leadership from the State of MN and St. Louis County. He said he would have an announcement for the public later.
