It was a very warm start to the week in the Northland, as temperatures hit the low to mid 90s across the area Monday (June 8th).

Are you wondering just how warm it was across the area? The National Weather Service of Duluth released a list of high temperatures from the previous day on their Twitter account Tuesday. Check it out below:

Wow! It is almost surreal to see 90s in the Northland. It seems like it has been ages since we've been that hot. Even in the Twin Ports, although it wasn't scorchingly warm, it was still warm enough to make many want to get outside and enjoy it.

These hot temperatures could be a sign of what is to come: the Weather Channel recently released their predictions for the summer, stating that Minnesota and Wisconsin will likely see near average to slightly above average temperatures for the season.

The Old Farmer's Almanac also made predictions for the first part of summer, predicting that June will bring cooler temperatures at first before turning hot near the second half to the end of the month.

In late May, the National Weather Service of Duluth shared some exciting news: we hit the 70s in the area for the first time in over 200 days. It was the first time we had done so since the beginning of October. If we are being honest, it felt like a lot longer than just 200 days and that is really saying something. Ha!

I think it's official - summer is here in the Northland.
