There is a light at the end of the cold snap - at least there is according to the National Weather Service of the Twin Cities.

The NWS Twin Cities released an outlook for the rest of the month. They shared the outlook on their Facebook page over the weekend (February 13th) and to be honest, it was the best Valentine's gift anyone could ask for!

Their outlook promises warmer temperatures as we head into the rest of the month. To be more specific, they are forecasting temperatures above normal by the end of February. So what does this mean?

It means two things: the first thing it means is that we will see temperatures in the 30s and 40s by the end of the month, according to the NWS Twin Cities. It also means that when we see those temperatures, it will be "roughly a 60 degree improvement" from what we've seen at times this month.

This also falls in line with what meteorologists at the Weather Channel are forecasting. According to a recent spring outlook, they are forecasting an early change of seasons and warmer-than-average temperatures as we head into March.

It has been brutally cold in Minnesota this month after a pretty mild start to the new year. While we usually see cold conditions come February, the temperatures we have seen up to the mid-month point have actually been even colder than usual. At one point, we were twenty degrees below our seasonal average for this time. Brrrr!I guess Groundhog Phil was also wrong this time around. Better luck next time, Phil.
