Notre Dame was a fun story all year long, but in the end they were no match for the Alabama Crimson Tide in the BCS Championship game.

In a game that was not competitive at any point, Alabama rolled over the Fighting Irish 42-14.  This is the 3rd BCS title in the past 4 years for Alabama and it really makes a case for the BCS to be replaced by a true playoff system in college football.

Let's face it, the SEC is the one and only dominant conference in football. Other conferences have quality teams, but they are not as deep as the SEC.  For Notre Dame, a surprising season but one that will repeat itself until they join a conference that challenges them to get get better in all aspects.
