We found out a week ago that Percy Harvin was in need of surgery on his shoulder. The surgery, which is supposed to be minor in nature, has been postponed by the Vikings wide receiver to tend to some personal matters.

According to Harvin's Twitter account, he put the surgery scheduled for today (April 10) on hold to tend to a family emergency. He tweeted the following to his fans:

To all my fans did not undergo surgery today had to put on back burner to support my family through emergency thanks

No information has become available on what kind of emergency, but we'll keep you posted as details develop.

The scheduled surgery was in place to remove bone spurs from his shoulder, which reportedly caused problems through the 2011 season. The expectation is that Harvin will still be ready for upcoming OTAs later this spring.
