Plenty of Minnesota-Born Talent In Rangers vs Wild Game
The New York Rangers come to Minnesota tomorrow to go up against the Minnesota Wild at the Xcel Energy Center. The amount of homegrown talent on the ice for the game could make up to around 20% of the total players in the game.
With the recent call-up of Nick Seeler by the Minnesota Wild, that adds one more native Minnesotan to the NHL. The Elk River native will be the 5th hometown player on the current roster. Add that to the news of Hermantown's own Neal Pionk getting recently called up for the New York Rangers and you can see why we are called 'The State of Hockey'
That also means that there could potentially be 9 Minnesota-born players that could play in the game tomorrow night. I say potentially because Alex Stalock (UMD Bulldogs fans might remember that guy) is the backup goalie for the Wild, so he might not be playing but will still dress.
Check out all the players in the photo gallery below! (Sorry to Nick Seeler, as it will be his first NHL game we could not find any pictures of him to use).
