A Michigan-based beef sausage company has issued a voluntary recall of their ready-to-eat beef sausages due to contamination concerns.  Kent Quality Foods, Inc is recalling approximately 48,681 pounds of their Teton Waters Ranch-branded polish sausages sold in 36-ounce packages.  Some packages of this product have turned up flexible pink rubber contaminants.  The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 5694” on the product packaging.

The concerns arose when two complaints were registered on July 17 and July 18 that consumers had found these pieces in their polish sausages.  At this time, there haven't been any registered instances of adverse reactions due to the contaminants - in other words, no one has been medically sick from them.

Kent Quality Foods, Inc is working in conjunction with the United States Department of Agriculture to get the word out about the recall.  The concern is that some of the affected products remain in consumers refrigerators or freezers.  If you have any questions, consumers are directed to visit the USDA website or call Kent Quality Foods, Inc directly at  (616) 459-4595.
