A popular restaurant in Duluth is closing its doors. Mike's Western Cafe announced they are closing after decades in business.

The restaurants owners shared the news on their Facebook page Wednesday (October 7th), writing the following:

With heavy hearts, we will be closing the doors of Mike's Western Cafe after 38 years of business. Thank you so much for your support over the years. We have met so many people, made lots of great friendships and made MANY lasting memories. We appreciate all of you more than you know. Thank you for everything. Mike and Deb

In response to the sad announcement, over 200 people chimed in to share their support and let the owners know how much they will miss the food and the atmosphere.The restaurant has been a favorite among locals for awhile.They are known for their inexpensive but delicious meals, including their breakfast. Their dishes like hamburger gravy, patty melts and soup were also popular favorites among locals.The owners of Mike's Western Cafe did not give an exact reason behind the decision. The closure is effective immediately.Like all other restaurants in the state, Mike's Western Cafe had to close in mid-March because of the pandemic and they never reopened. In May, the restaurant celebrated 38 years in business.

Mike's Western Cafe is located at 2803 West Superior Street in Duluth. It will certainly be missed!
