Registration is open for the Runway 4K in Duluth and this year there is a virtual option for those who choose not to participate on August 22.

For the actual event, there will pandemic related safety measures in place.  According the the Runway 4K Facebook page:

Our mission for the Runway 4K, presented by Essentia Health, is to provide a fun, safe race for all! To accomplish this, we are asking participants to provide us with their estimated pace per mile. By having this information we will be able to set up wave groups for all runners and maximize social distancing. We will be keeping each wave group small and spacing out each of them accordingly.

The Runway 4K takes place at Sky Harbor Airport, which is at the end of Park Point.  Registration is $35 and the race is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m.

If the virtual run is a better fit for you, registration is open for $45 and that includes having your finisher shirt and medal mailed to you.

Doing the virtual option denies you the fun of running on the runway on Park Point, but it provides even greater social distancing opportunities and overall flexibility.

Runway 4K virtual runners have until August 31 to complete their run, which can be done anywhere, including a treadmill.

A 4K is just under 2.5 miles, which is a distance that people of all ages can generally cover.  Whether participating on August 22 on Park Point or at your own time and location virtually, it can provide a fun family experience.
