Second Harvest A Recipient Of Miller Hill Subaru Share The Love Campaign
Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank works tirelessly to help end hunger with our neighbors in North East Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin. Their focus over the last 38 years has been to provide nutritious food to families, children, and seniors. One in ten of our neighbors is impacted by hunger in our area, one in six of those they serve are children and one in ten of those they serve are seniors.
Each year Second Harvest distributes over 7 million pounds of food, or enough food for 5.6 million meals, which can feed approximately 44,000 of our Northland neighbors. The programs at Second Harvest are The BackPack Program: which provides meals to children in the Northland on the weekends. The Food Shelf, Mobile Food Pantry, and Nutrition Assitance Program for Seniors.
Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank was chosen by Miller Hill Subaru as the recipient of its 2021 Subaru Share the Love Campaign. This annual campaign continues to help our community in a big way. From Mid-November to January 3 2022 customers who bought or leased a new Subaru were able to choose from four national charities or Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank. The charity that was chosen would receive a $250 donation from Subaru and Miller Hill Subaru made an additional donation.
A check presentation which is one of the largest in the 14-year history of the campaign will be presented to Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank 4503 Airpark Boulevard, Duluth, on Wednesday, April 27, at 11:30 a.m. According to a Press Release from Miller Hill Subaru: "Over the last 14 years, through the Subaru Share the Love Event, Subaru of America Inc. and its participating retailers have donated more than $200 million to charity."
