Winter in the Twin Ports can seem like it drags on for far too long.  Thankfully since that's the norm every year, there always is something fun to do or at least go see.  Even in the time of COVID-19, outdoor venues are doing their best to provide entertainment.

One event set to take place on Saturday, February 20th, is the "Frosted Fatty" at Duluth's Spirit Mountain.  It's an annual downhill fat-bike race that offers plenty of fun to participate in or just go and watch with the whole family.

Spirit Mountain did scale it back for this year however it still should be a pretty good time.  There are Male and Female categories that can be entered into and the downhill race costs $25 for current season pass holders, and $50 for non-pass holders.  That $50 does include at lift ticket for the full day, so it's not a bad deal if you want to race too.

Check-in will start at 9:30AM and two stages will be raced with the first starting at 10:30AM and running until 11:30AM  The second stage will be from 11:30AM-12:30PM and they will be challenging for expert riders but should be accessible for intermediate ones as well.  It's important to remember as well that registration must be completed by February 18th as there will be no day-of registration option.  Since there is obviously some danger to participating in this kind of race, you'll also have to sign a waiver to join in on the fun.  You can get more information about this fun outdoors event HERE.
