Take A Kid Fishing Weekend Starts June 7 in Minnesota

School will be out for the year this weekend across the Northland, and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has a great way to get kids outside.

The annual Take A Kid Fishing Weekend in Minnesota is Friday, June 7 - Sunday, June 9 and that means residents can fish without licenses if they take children 15 or younger fishing.

While Minnesotans 15 and younger don’t need fishing licenses any time of the year, Take a Kid Fishing Weekend is a way for adults and kids to fish together without the step of buying a license.  If you want to take a kid fishing in a state park, there is also fishing gear available to borrow.
