A really big, really old steam locomotive will be chugging into Duluth this summer.

'The Big Boy' locomotive which was built for the Union Pacific Railroad starting 1941 will be making a stop at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum in July.

Union Pacific has been working on restoring 'The Big Boy' No. 4014 for several years and it recently made an appearance of the 150th-anniversary celebration of the transcontinental railroad in Ogden, UT.

No word on exactly when in July the HUGE train will make a stop in Duluth, but you can keep an eye on the Lake Superior Railroad Museum's Facebook page for upcoming details.

When I say 'The Big Boy' is huge, I mean it! It is 132-feet long and comes in at 1.2 million pounds. The frame of the locomotive is articulated so it can navigate curves.
