'The Trail To Oregon' is a fun and interactive musical, based on the classic computer game 'The Oregon Trail'. The musical has come back to Duluth.

Some elements from the game will be apparent, but in this parody rendition, it can be seen as a raunchy comedic musical. The show was put on back in 2019 by a group of UMD college students.

The same cast is back and they even have degrees now! The musical will be at a new location this year, Zeitgeist Arts. According to the website:

This raunchy, hilarious follows a dysfunctional family while they face the weird and wacky trials of the Oregon trail! This show is a rollercoaster ride of chaos, improv, hilarity, and audience participation! Age recommendation 16+

The crew are also raising money on a GoFundMe page and Venmo where all funds raised will be used to pay for rights, the space at Zeitgeist, and compensating the crew. They also hope the funds they raise will allow them to keep ticket prices low. A portion of the funds raised will also be invested back in the Duluth arts community according to their GoFundMe.
Showtimes for 'The Trail To Oregon' will be:
  • July 21st-23rd at 7:30pm
  • July 24th at 2pm
  • July 28th & 29th at 7:30pm
  • July 30th (special late-night 21+ performance) at 10:30pm
  • July 31st at 2pm

It is not recommended that kids are brought to the show due to language. Tickets are currently $15 and can be purchased here. Zeitgeist is located at 222 East Superior Street in Downtown Duluth.

The show is based on a StarKid production of the same name. You can see it in its entirety below when it was filmed in Chicago back in 2014:
