Within a week the Minnesota Twins have traded Denard Span, and now Ben Revere. The Twins let go two of their most speediest outfielders for three young pitchers. The Twins have addressed their biggest weakness this off season by these two trades.

The Twins have acquired Vance Worley who in 2011 was third in voting National League Rookie of the Year, and has a career ERA of 3.50 and is a strike out pitcher. Also in this trade the Twins receive Trevor May who is the best pitcher in the Philadelphia Phillies minor league system. May pitched in double-a last season, and had a record of 10-13 in 2012. May has a lot of upside.

Within a week the Twins have acquired two great minor league pitchers, and now have a very decent starting pitcher who will vastly improve the Twins starting pitching staff. We have heard all season that the Twins have a surplus of outfielders and now will be able to see Aaron Hicks finally in a Twins uniform this season.

Revere was an exciting, young outfielder, who lacks power, and has a below average arm, but steals a lot of bases. It is sad to see Revere go, but the Twins sold Revere when his stock was high. Reever might turn out to be a great player in the future, but the Twins needed pitchers and finally have some decent arms.

The Twins are rebuilding, and now have some pitchers to help build for the future. This is a similar scenario of what Terry Ryan did in 2001. The Twins will have a lot of young talent now, and we will see if this is the last trade for the Twins, or will Ryan make another splash, maybe we will see Josh Willingham go, or Justin Morneau, or maybe, just maybe Joe Mauer.
