Minnesota Wild center Eric Staal has been named the National Hockey League's First Star Of The Week for his performance the week of February 19 - February 25, when he scored four goals and was also credited with three assists in four games.  The Wild also went undefeated during that stretch.

According to Fox Sports, Eric Staal also reached a pair of milestones last week, registering his 900th career point Thursday in a win over the New Jersey Devils, and scoring his 30th goal of the season Sunday in a win over the San Jose Sharks.

You can see Minnesota Wild head coach Bruce Boudreau's reaction to the good news in the video above.

The Wild will need Staal and the rest of the team to stay hot to continue to rise up in a very tough NHL Central Division.
