Wisconsin Fire Department Hosting Car Seat Checks In May
Springtime in the Twin Ports means we get outside more and tackle some annual things like cleaning the house and garage, doing yardwork, and getting those campers and motorcycles un-winterized.
With the other annual things mentioned above, it's also a good time to have your car seats for the kiddos inspected. Between Duluth and Superior you have some options to help get that done for free, and it's super easy to take advantage of the service.
One car seat check in particular will be happening in Superior on Thursday, May 2nd. Hosting the event will be the Superior Fire Department from 4:00PM-6:00PM.
No appointment is needed for this free event, you just stop by headquarters at 3326 Tower Avenue and pull around to the back of the building.
On-site will be a certified technician making sure your kid's car seats are installed properly, and if you have any new seats, they will even install them for you.
While it's not rocket science installing car seats, each one is a little different and having them properly secured per manufacturer specs is key to them working properly in the event of an accident.
You can get all of the dates and venue information for other events around the Northland including in Duluth and Cloquet by check out the list with Safe Kids NE Minnesota. They are a great community organization comprised of multiple agencies to educate the public and help prevent injury.
