35th Annual Rotary Rose Sale Starts This Week
The Duluth Rotary Club is celebrating its 35th Annual Rose Sale starting September 3 through October 6. Roses will be available for sale throughout Duluth and Superior for only $25 a dozen and are available in red or multicolored lollipop. Plus everyone who purchases roses will also receive a complimentary coupon book full of a variety of specials from local businesses.
Not only would these roses be a thoughtful gift for someone or nice treat for yourself but the money from this sale will help to continue to support a ton of projects that benefit our community. since 1911 members of the Rotary have been working non stop to help improve communities throughout the Twin Ports.
The Rose Sale is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year and has provided funding for the following:
• Grants to local organizations that help children and less-fortunate individuals by providing food, shelter and clothing
• Community improvements, including the construction of parks and funds that helped light Duluth’s Aerial Lift Bridge and Enger Tower
• Activities for local children, including an annual fishing trip on the St. Louis River
• Activities for seniors
• Provided books for the library
With your help The Rotary can help so many more projects in our community. To order flowers call 348-ROSE, online at rotaryroses.com or contact a rotary member and they will be happy to help you. Remember the roses go on sale starting Sept. 3. Pre-ordered roses will be available for pick-up on Friday October 16th and Saturday October 17th at a number of locations.
On a personal note Thank You to each and every Rotary Member for all your hard work and efforts behind the scenes. So many things that your organization does behind the scenes are not even public knowledge, even though that is not the point of your efforts but instead to help, and thank you again. This year especially kindness and caring for others is so necessary to help drown out all the bad things that are happening. So show your support by buying some beautiful roses.
