Armed Boy, 11, Shoots Wussed-Out Home Intruder
It's Home Alone, for the 21st century.
Eleven-year-old Chris Gaither has made national headlines after he shot a man who broke into his family's house in Talladega, Ala.
Chris was home by himself last week when someone busted into the house, so he found a nine-millimeter handgun. The burglar threatened to kill him and was leaving the home with a hamper when Chris began shooting. He rattled off a dozen shots, the last one of which nailed the intruder in the leg as he was about to hop a fence in the front yard.
Chris said, "He started crying like a little baby."
The suspect, whose name has not been released, was taken to the hospital. Chris' mother says he has robbed their home before, but they do not know him.
It remains to be seen if the man will return for revenge or if he's been scared stiff after getting shot by a preteen.
"I hope you learn your lesson coming to this house trying to steal stuff," Chris said.
