October may be over but is it really ever over? Thankfully for those that love all things that go bump in the night, we have many paranormal shows to get us through the rest of the year and one of those is Destination Fear.

In case you didn't know, the show airs on the Travel Channel and Discovery Plus. It features a cast that goes to the most haunted places in the world and what separates it from other shows of the same spooky nature is that at least one cast member has a connection to the places they visit, making it more personal.

Another thing that is different about Destination Fear is that they don't know where they are going to investigate until they are on their way to the spot or already there. That helps put doubters to rest, as the cast doesn't have time to look up just why a place is haunted.

Another cool personal connection, if this isn't enough already, is that two of the cast mates are brother and sister! Dakota and Chelsea Laden anchor the show and are joined by two other friends. The two were born and raised in Burnsville while the third cast member, Tanner Wiseman, is also from Minnesota.

The newest cast member? Alex Schroeder, a Minnesotan born in Virginia. That is pretty cool if you ask me! I don't know of any other shows where the entire cast is from Minnesota. That is pretty awesome, especially considering it is on a national level.

Now, the show is gearing up for yet another season. This will be season four and just like past seasons, they will visit some of the most haunted places in the country. Dakota shared a little sneak peak of the new season ahead of its premiere on Friday, November 25th.

The show will premiere the day after Thanksgiving and will be available on Discovery Plus and will also be available live on the Travel Channel, which is famous for its spooky shows. They may even visit Minnesota or Wisconsin this season as they have done in the past, most famously at the Sheboygan Asylum and Nopeming Sanitorium.

In fact, in summer of 2021, I had the chance to talk to Dakota over the phone about Destination Fear and asked him about visiting Nopeming, considering it is a spot famous for being so haunted. He told me a little bit about it and even said they were the first crew to investigate in the dead of winter, which is brave in itself.

So where are they headed to in season four? According to the Travel Channel website, the premiere will be a two-part series surrounding an old sanatorium and prison in Pennsylvania. They will also be visiting a vacant high school in Ohio, a hospital in Tennessee and the famous Winchester Mystery House.

The show has come a long way! It premiered in October of 2019 and just a few short years later, is already entering into its fourth season in the biggest and best locations. I hope they never forget where they come from - Minnesota. I can't wait to watch the new season!
