UPDATE: Duluth Police Arrest Two People In Connection With East Hillside Shooting

The Duluth Police Department offered updates on what was initially a report of a shots fired incident on Tuesday morning that sent one person to the hospital.
At 11:00 am, the department reported that they had arrested a suspect in the 1900 block of Jefferson Street without incident. A half hour later, the department shared that they had taken a second person into custody in relation to the shooting.
The department shared at 1:25 pm that their initial investigation found that the victim and suspect knew each other. They also shared that this was a drive-by shooting incident that occurred in the area of 15th Avenue East and Superior Street, and said that the shooting was not random.
They also shared that the victim is in stable condition and noted that the investigation is ongoing.

The Duluth Police Department shared via social media Tuesday morning that they are on the scene of a report of shots fired in the East Hillside neighborhood.
The report, posted at 9:20 am, explains that officers responded to a call for service following the sound of shots fired in the area of 15th Avenue East and Superior Street in Duluth.
The department reports that an individual was shot and taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Officers on the scene identified the suspect and are in the area of the 1900 block of Jefferson Street.
Duluth Police ask the public to stay away from the area as an investigation into the incident continues. They also ask anyone with information about the incident call 911.
