No there will not be parade on Nicollet Avenue, or a press conference where a kid not even old enough to buy a beer in the states will announce he is taking his talent to "SOTA", and there will not even be a party held at Target Center, where Kevin Love, Michael Beasley and Ricky Rubio will say "not 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, but 8 championships. What I am trying to say is Ricky Rubio after two long years is finally going to play for the Timberwolves once whenever the new CBA has been agreed upon.

Lets take a look at one of the most inefficient franchise in the NBA. For one, they do not have a coach, they have a general manager that use to be a sports writer, and they have a owner who would make Red Mccombs look like a genius in Glen Taylor. They play in one of the worst NBA venues out there, and unlike Yankee stadium ghost's who actually help them win, the ghost in the Target Center haunt them. The ghost in there are Randy Foye, Rashad McCants, Latrell Sprewell contract, and the Kevin Garnet trade, which reminds the fans, and the organization, that this team will be forever doomed.

I am not trying to make fun of the Timberwolves, at least they are an active organization who always tries to make the best trades possible, but lets face it; they have made one great trade in there 20 plus years since becoming a franchise, and that trade was OJ Mayo for Kevin Love. With the T-Wolves you always expect failure, besides 2003-2004 year where they finished runner up in the Western Conference. They have either been knocked out in the first round, or finished up playing in the Draft Lottery, which has hatted the T-wolves since the Christian laettner draft.

Is Rubio going to be the one to save the T-wolves? Will Rubio make the T-wolves look like a genius by selecting him with the 5th pick two years ago? A lot of players have tried to save the T-wolves, Ricky Davis, Corey Brewer, etc. Time will tell if the next "Pistol Pete" will live up to his expectations. I know the whole state of Minnesota hopes Rubio will be better then Pete Maravich, but we saw how the so called next Michael Jordan did in last week, so I will hold off the Pistol Pete references for

now.

This team has great players from K-love, to Beasley, to Johnson, and with the second pick in this year NBA draft; and now with Rubio coming. It seems like just maybe the T-wolves could be turning the corner; especially if you look at the Western Conference. The San Antonio Spurs, and the Los Angeles Lakers are aging. Dallas Mavericks and the Oklahoma City Thunder looks like the two top dogs in the West, and with the Phoenix Suns and Portland Trail Blazers kind of mediocre, the T-wolves could become a playoff team real soon.

Lets not start to plan a championship parade quite yet, or lets not have a party at the Target Center right now. Instead lets hire a coach that will play into our players strengths, and draft a great player at number 2 next week. I am sorry to use a field of dreams movie quote but "if you build it they will come". If David Khan can build a competitive team, then the fans will come back, I know I will.
