The Minnesota Twins have honored former Twins first baseman Justin Morneau by electing him as the 34th member of the Minnesota Twins Hall of Fame. He will be officially inducted to the elite group during a pre game ceremony before the Twins host the White Sox on Saturday, May 23rd.

Morneau now joins the ranks of other great Twins players. Since they began the Twins Hall of Fame in 2000, they've inducted 33 members including such as Harmon Killebrew, Rod Carew, Tony Oliva, Tom Kelly, Kirby Puckett, Michael Cuddyer, Torii Hunter, and others.

Morneau played 14 seasons in the league. From 2003-2013 he was with the Twins. Playing alongside Joe Mauer, they were called the M&M brothers and helped bring some division titles to the Twins. With the Twins Justin Morneau batted .278, hit 221 home runs, with 860 RBIs, and 669 runs scored. Three times he hit for over 30 home runs in a season for the Twins. He also was in 4 straight AL All Star teams.

After being traded from the Twins for his last few seasons, he returned to the team to work as a Special Assistant To Baseball Operations, a title he still holds.

He will be immortalized with the other Twins legends at several Twins Hall of Fame displays at Target Field.

Additionally, the first 5,000 fans that attend the game will receive a Justin Moreneau Hall of Fame pin.

We're proud of you Justin, and glad you still have a home here with us in Twins Territory.
